August 31, 1840 – Apostle Heber C. Kimball baptized Henry Conner, a watchmaker, in London, England, as the first fruit of preaching the fulness of the gospel in that city.

August 26, 1906 – First Prophet visits Britain (Joseph F. Smith)

August 28, 1852 – The Church announces the expansion of missionary work in India, Siam, and Hong Kong.

August 28, 1889 – A group of Hawaiian Saints arrives at the Church-owned ranch in Skull Valley, Utah, and names the settlement Iosepa (Joseph in Hawaii) in honor of Joseph Smith and Joseph F. Smith, who had served in Hawaii as a missionary.

August 28, 1987 – The Frankfurt Germany Temple is dedicated by Pres. Ezra Taft Benson.
