MHA News

Mormon Heritage Association is now accepting tour reservations for 2010.  In addition to the separate Palmyra to Kirtland tours (Tour I) and the Missouri/Nauvoo/Winter Quarters tours (Tour II).  MHA is offering the often-requested Grand Tour which combines Tours I and II into an inspiring twelve-day adventure.  Due to special requests, we are once again offering the unforgettable New England Prophets Tour also known as "We Thank Thee O God for Prophets."  This tour will visit family roots and the birthplaces of 3 latter-day prophets:  Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and Wilford Woodruff.

NEW ENGLAND PROPHETS

"We Thank Thee O God for Prophets" - Enjoy beautiful Sharon Vermont, the birthplace of Joseph Smith; also enjoy nearby Royalton, Randolph, and Tunbridge as well as Smith ancestral roots in Topsfield Massachusetts.  We will visit Whitingham Vermont, the birthplace of Brigham Young.  Then on to the Hartford Connecticut area of West Avon and Farmington, Wilford Woodruff's birthplace and family home.  We will discover the preparatory years of these great prophets and events that helped shape their futures.  The tour begins with some US historic sites in Boston and finishes with a wonderful session at the lovely Boston Temple.  This tour will travel in early August, 2010 and will be hosted by Jay McCarthy (a native of the Boston area) a US and LDS history expert.

ENGLAND & WALES, EARLY BRITISH ISLES CHURCH HISTORY

Experience a fabulous tour to England honoring the incredible successes of the missions of the early Apostles at sites such as the Benbow Farm.  Unique opportunity to enjoy the crucial early Church history in England and the great harvest that took place there.  Also enjoy England's own history while visiting elegant castles, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, etc.  Exceptionally knowledgeable historians and experienced tour guides Richard Lambert and Bill Rowley will host this unique tour.  The unforgettable Karl Ricks Anderson will also add his unique and inspiring insights.  Travel May 2 -12, 2010.  Click here to learn more.

SHARON VERMONT to PALMYRA NY to KIRTLAND OHIO with KARL RICKS ANDERSON

We are rightly pleased to once again offer an opportunity to tour these memorable sites with the incredible Karl Ricks Anderson.  An Institute instructor/director, bishop, stake president, area authority, patriarch, author and historian, Brother Anderson is highly qualified to present this important history in a delightful and thorough manner.  We'll begin in Sharon Vermont where the prophet Joseph Smith was born to a faithful, loving family.  We'll visit the humble cabin site, the magnificent monument dedicated to the prophet of the restoration, and family sites in the immediate vicinity.  Then on to beautiful upstate New York to visit several very important sites of the early Saints (South Bainbridge, Colesville, Harmony) and where the restoration began with Joseph's vision in Palmyra where we will visit key sites such as the Sacred Grove, the Smith cabin & frame home as well as Cumorah.  Optional Palmyra Temple session.  Then on to Kirtland sites for two and a half days learning of the magnificent events that took place there.  Brief stop at Niagara Falls USA; Palmyra Temple Session; Kirtland Temple tour - amazing week!  Expected Travel October, 2010.  Click here for more info.

PALMYRA NEW YORK to KIRTLAND OHIO

Also known as "The Restoration" tour.  Six-day tours begin with an overnight stay and visit at the lovely Canadian side of Niagara Falls and take the breathtaking Maid of the Mist boat ride up to the Falls.  Most importantly, all tours focus on the great church history sites:  Palmyra (including the Sacred Grove & the Palmyra Temple), Fayette, Harmony, Kirtland, Hiram.  We will learn about the boy Joseph's experiences witht he Frist Vision, subsequent visits by the Angel Moroni, enjoy private time to reverently meditate in the Sacred Grove, visit the Smith's re-built homes, brother Alvin's grave, Martin Harris' farm, and the Grandin Press where the Book of Mormon was first printed!  Enjoy the beautiful grounds of the Palmyra Temple as well as Cumorah.  We'll visit the Peter Whitmer & John Johnson farms, learn about Emma Hale Smith's family, events on the banks of the Susquehanna River, and in Kirtland visit the Newell K. MISSOURI/NAUVOO/WINTERQUARTERS

Exciting tours are being planned for 2010.  We begin in Independence, traveling in a deluxe, air-conditioned bus through Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa covering prophetic and historic sites:  Independence, Richmond, Liberty, Far West, Adam-ondi-Ahman, Quincy, Nauvoo, Carthage, the Iowa Pioneer Trail, ending at Winter Quarters.  You may choose to enjoy a marvelous opportunity to perform ordinances in the Nauvoo Temple and/or the Winter Quarters Temple.  Seven-day tours include time for the Winter Quarters Temple within the tour, while others may have the possibility to stay an additional night after the tour ends, to attend this temple (depending on the day of the week).  Either way, make plans now to join us!  Click here to visit our Missouri Tours page for more detailed info!
