Aug 8, 1839 – Elders Woodruff and Taylor leave Nauvoo to start on their mission to England.

Aug 7, 1841 – Don Carlos Smith, the Prophet Joseph’s youngest brother, died at his home in Nauvoo at the age of 25.  He was a strong supporter of his older brother.  At the time of his death he was the editor of the Times and Seasons and a member of the Nauvoo City Council.

Aug 11, 1878 – Pres Taylor Organizes the Primary Association.

Aug 10, 1952London Temple site dedicated.

Aug 7, 2005 – The Aba Nigeria Temple is dedicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley during his sevenation around the world tour.
